The Jive & Wail features a constantly rotating cast of nationally-booked professional piano players and musicians.
Below is a listing of many (but not all!) of the artists who we are proud to work with. As you can see, several have recorded their own albums, each has an extensive musical history – and every player brings a unique skill set to the stage.
The unique combination of artistry and collaboration allows the Jive & Wail to be “Always different, Always fun.” Covering every genre you can imagine, bring your requests and be ready for the Best Dueling Piano show around!
Daina DePrez (Minnesota) is an electrifying, charismatic performer that has charmed audiences across the United States and Europe. Her amazing vocal virtuosity works in perfect tandem with her bluesy piano playing. To watch her sing and play is to watch a true artist in touch with their very soul.
With an impressive repertoire that includes music from Rock to Blues, old school R&B and savory ballads – her audience appeal is as varied as her song list. Daina is an accomplished songwriter and arranger with an album released in 2001.
Leon Novembre Jr. (Ft. Lauderdale) was born in Chicago and raised in Miami-Ft. Lauderdale. He holds a BA in Music from USF and enjoys travelling for the music industry. Leons is truly amazing to witness and he will wow you with his skills on the piano.
Leon’s strong vocals and technical skills make him a featured player at The Jive & Wail. Want to hear the latest hip-hop? Ready to belt out the chorus of a Top 40 Hit? Request it from Leon and prepare yourself!
David Law (St. Louis) has been playing and performing since he was seven. At only twelve years old he began as a street performer on Nantucket Island, which gave him the ability to entertain and command a crowd.
David has fronted several bands including Arcadia Road. David Law’s album “Dancing with the Devil” is available on iTunes (featuring the single “California”). He brings great energy and passion to the show – you might even see him slide on his knees across the stage while leading the crowd!
Chris Foglio (St. Louis) always gets the crowd going with his energy, enthusiasm, and musical talent! You can sometimes spot Chris sitting down at the Drums for one song, then pounding out your favorites on the piano soon after.
Chris may be from Kansas City originally, but Chris has embraced the St. Louis music scene with open arms. Chris currently serves as Studio Director at The Gateway Conservatory of Piano.
Christian Cartier (St. Louis) is a talented musician and vocalist who always puts on a great show for the crowd. He combines top shelf musicianship with a vibrant performance that engages the audience.
Christian was previously the leader of the Ft. Lauderdale area group Jake and The Beat Merchant. Fans frequently cite his “unbelievable voice” after hearing his shows. Come see what they’re talking about when Christian takes the stage at The Jive & Wail.
Cliff Holcomb (Atlanta) is another crowd-favorite and nationally booked dueling piano player. It shouldn’t come as a surprise that he’d like to meet Elton John one day. Cliff has performed in basically every major city in the United States and always impresses the audience.
Cliff has also played with his friend Mark Kovaly for over 10 years based out of the Atlanta area. He recently returned from playing as the headliner in beautiful Aruba – where local media raved about his performances. Cliff enjoys playing a wide variety of hits, including many of your favorites.
Shannon Wolf (St. Louis) is a full-time musician who earned his Degree in Music from Luther College in Iowa. He lives the busy life of a musician – arranging and directing both musicals and choirs; composing music for short films and theater; teaching music; and performing with a variety of bands.
Shannon also heads up the efforts of Queenormous, a St. Louis based Queen Tribute Band. His arrangements of studio classics sound brilliant live. Want to hear a great rendition? Tonight’s your chance!
Doctor Nick (St. Louis) is a talented piano player who belts out great hits. Doc was educated in Music at Webster University. He has been recognized by several publications for his Jazz piano and is often listed in St. Louis’ Jazz Notes.
Doc is the leader of The Nick Shlueter Trio whose album “Believe” is available for purchase online. He also brings great charisma and personality to the stage – he’ll make sure you’re having a great time!
Kevin Kennedy (St. Louis) is a local favorite and a nationally booked piano talent. His great voice combined with his musical background make for great renditions of many classic and current hits.
While Kevin has confessed that he “plays a killer chop stix” – you’ll be wowed by the wide variety of songs he plays throughout the evening. If you’re celebrating a special occasion be sure to mention it on your song request slip – Kevin creates a memorably fun moment when honoring our special guests with a “call down”!
Chris Muschany (St. Louis) is a talented drummer who really gets the show going. Whether it’s a drum roll, rim-shot, or cymbal crash, he’s always pounding out the beat to the greatest hits. Don’t miss your chance to call for a drum-solo! Come hear Chris as he gets the house going with some funky beats.
Tim Barnes (St. Louis) can really get the crowd going with his double-bass pedal drum rolls! He brings a background in music and percussion, allowing him to play a variety of styles with ease from Rock ‘n Roll to the St. Louis Blues.
Tim is a fan favorite and for good reason. The whole vibe in the rooms elevates as he pounds out the beats. He can take it from soft and intimate on the cymbals to a crazy drum roll at any moment. Come hear Tim and let the rhythm rock your soul!
Perry Woods (Guitar, St. Louis) has performed in Clubs, Ampitheatres, and Outdoor Festivals since 1998. Austin to Boston, Cabo to Canada! He has teamed up with many local and national acts over the years – he also performs solo as “The Perry Woods Experience“. He has released multiple albums including the 2000 hit “Veronica” which was used in the tv series Real World.
Perry can currently be found at The Jive & Wail on Wednesdays for Blues Night with Slim Pickins and The J-Dub Review. On Friday nights, he joins the piano players to amplify the Live Dueling Piano Party atmosphere to a whole new level. It’s especially amazing to see Perry play guitar solos behind his head, and hearing his smooth singing-voice belting out your favorites always makes you feel good!
